Three Ways Ram is Improving Storage in the 2020 Ram 1500

The 2020 Ram 1500 has nearly double the amount of storage found in competing pickup trucks. How Ram is improving the storage and making things easier for owners in 2020.

The 2020 Ram 1500 now faces a daunting task, trying to repeat as the second best-selling truck for the year 2020. Ram says it is committed to focusing on the features that helped it reach its record setting sales. Ram has been repeatedly praised for upgrading its vehicle’s interiors and making the truck more user friendly for owners who rely on it for work and pleasure.

One of the keys for Ram is improved storage inside the cab and in the truck bed. The 2020 Ram 1500 features twice the interior storage capacity versus the competition. Ram claims that having the largest cab gives the 2020 Ram 1500 the opportunity to have the most spacious interior. The added room allows for more storage room as well as passenger comfort.

Ram says it has nearly 100 percent more interior storage capacity versus the closest competitor at 151.1 liters. Twice the capacity can make a huge difference for drivers who need to carry items like construction materials or tools. Locking and hidden storage also become critical for drivers who continually have to carry valuable items.

Maximizing Second Row Storage

The second row of the Ram 1500 has been reconfigured to allow the rear seats to move for better legroom. That also creates a larger area for in-floor RamBins storage. The fact that some of the bins can be locked adds even greater protection for people who need to leave items, like a laptop or expensive tools, in the vehicle while unattended. Ram has also upgraded the floor design to make it a flat-load floor. The additional tie down rings make transporting anything easier, plus the trucks have expandable under-seat storage.

More Storage Up Front

Ram has also been very creative in maximizing space in the front part of the cabin. The 2020 Ram 1500 features a dual glove box. A smaller compartment sits above the regular glove box. The upper box is perfect for papers, while the larger traditional glovebox can hold the bulkier items. A special tray is built in by the upper instrument panel. The tray provides additional storage for smaller items like phones and chargers. The tray can hold virtually any small item that the driver may need to reach, like a pen to take notes. Ram also makes it easier to personalize or configure the way your center console is set up. That can make a huge difference for people who now use their trucks as their mobile office. The easily customizable interior storage gives the driver more opportunities to travel in style and comfort.

Improved Exterior and Truck Bed Storage

Ram’s locking RamBox storage system is still unequaled in the industry. Other companies may offer locking boxes but the 2020 Ram has an upgraded cargo management system that functions along with the Ramboxes. The system allows owners greater flexibility to anchor loads to different points in the truck bed. A special divider allows the driver better manage and control smaller cargo items.

The 2019 Ram 1500 had an outstanding sales year, the company reported that Ram full-year pickup truck sales rose to a record level of 633,694 vehicles for 2019. It is an 18 percent increase over 2018. Ram outsold the Chevrolet Silverado for the first time in history. Ram is trying to improve all of its features to increase sales and keep drawing buyers to the brand.
