Jeep Emphasizes the 2021 Wagoneer and 2021 Wrangler 4xe as it Focuses on 'The Road Ahead'

Jeep is following up its brilliant Super Bowl ad called "The Middle" with a video roadmap of its future. In "The Road Ahead" Jeep highlights its upcoming products, including a focus on the electrified 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe.

Following its successful Super Bowl advertisement called “The Middle”, Jeep is now focusing on “The Road Ahead” and emphasizing some of its future products. The new video highlights the all-new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer, 2021 Jeep Cherokee L and especially the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe.

“As we celebrate Jeep’s 80th anniversary this year and look to the future, ‘The Road Ahead’ illustrates how we are proudly building on our rich heritage as we commit to making Jeep the greenest SUV brand,” said Christian Meunier, Jeep Brand Chief Executive Officer - Stellantis. "All Jeep models will carry an electrified option in the next few years and will take green and 4x4 technology to the next level.”

According to TorqueNews Managing Editor Patrick Rall “The Wrangler 4xe package comes only in Unlimited (four door) form with the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, along with an electric hybrid drive system. This system is designed to offer all-electric driving while also offering improved fuel economy when working with the gasoline engine. The system offers a total output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to sprint from a stop to 60 miles per hour in just 6 seconds, making it the quickest Wrangler shy of the upcoming 392 models.”

Jeep Installing New Charging Stations

Jeep also announced that it will install solar-powered electric charging stations at Jeep Badge of Honor trails to support Wrangler 4xe owners. Frequently consumers mention the lack of charging stations and infrastructure as a reason for not adopting the new technology. Range anxiety remains a major issue, as the electric charging infrastructure development has lagged.

“The Jeep community embodies the philosophy that today and tomorrow will be better than yesterday, and this digital spot is a true advocate for that positive message," said Olivier Francois, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Stellantis. “A new chapter has been opened for the Jeep brand, and as we celebrate 80 years of its unforgettable history, it is now time to come together and begin our journey into the next 80 years."

Other Vehicles Starring in “The Road Ahead”

“The Road Ahead” also shows some of the new technology that will be featured on the all-new 2021 Jeep Cherokee L. The Grand Cherokee L is packed with a number of new technologies, but it is clear from the design that it is a Jeep through-and-through. The exterior design screams Jeep and includes all the major Jeep design cues like the signature seven-slot-grille and wheel arches. Jeep has sold 7 million Grand Cherokees over the last 30-years, but the design team was very careful to not make this the same Grand Cherokee with just an added row of seats. The interior is designed to include the latest technology, wrapped in premium luxury.

It also focuses on the all-new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. “The original Grand Wagoneer was the first premium SUV, and its timeless design combined with the soul of Americana helped it achieve an iconic place in many hearts,” said Ralph Gilles, head of design – FCA. “The Grand Wagoneer Concept is inspired by the original, but with a modern interpretation of luxury and freedom. We strived to create an elegant design with a timeless silhouette, featuring countless beautifully crafted details that come together to give it an undeniable presence.”

Jeep is also establishing “The Road Ahead” as a special platform highlighting the brand’s future plans. For more information you can click here.
