Ford creates new "Orange Fury" Mustang treat for National Ice Cream Day

Just in time for National Ice Cream day, Ford has commissioned a special "Orange Fury" ice cream sandwich. The color matches the 2018 Ford Mustang.

Ford Motor is celebrating National Ice Cream Day, July 16, 2017, with a very special 2018 Mustang –inspired treat. Ford asked the Coolhaus ice cream company to whip up an “Orange Fury” ice cream sandwich to mimic the all-new color for the 2018 Mustang called “Orange Fury”.

Ford describes the sweet treat this way. “Sandwiches feature a zesty orange-flavored ice cream between two Vanilla Whoopies, covered in orange icing and an edible wrapper made from potato wafer paper with edible ink.”

Limited Edition

Unfortunately, the limited-edition ice cream was only available at the Coolhaus store, in Culver City, California, and from a few Coolhaus ice cream trucks, in New York City. No word on if the Coolhaus trucks will be making other promotional stops for the 2018 Mustang throughout the United States.
Coolhaus was excited about the project. Coolhaus CEO, Natasha Case, said in a statement, “I’ve always been a fan of the Mustang, and was super excited when they came to us with such a special project. We thrive on helping our customers realize their vision and love to help create that special, one-of-a-kind experience – one that really makes an impact.”

Customization

Ford says the custom ice cream is meant to highlight how the 2018 Ford Mustang can be customized. The newest pony car will offer a customizable 12-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, as well as 12 different wheel designs. The Mustang will be available in three new exterior colors, Orange Fury, Kona Blue and Royal Crimson. Ford isn’t saying if there will be other Coolhaus treats to honor Kona Blue and Royal Crimson.

The 2018 Ford Mustang will roar into showrooms in the fall. The pony car is a critical vehicle for the automaker, often beating the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger in sales.
