Tesla Employee Confirms That Optimus Humanoid Robot Will Join the Tesla Assembly Line

A Tesla employee working on the Tesla Bot (Optimus) just confirmed that the Tesla Bot will eventually join the Tesla assembly line in manufacturing.

Optimus Will Eventually Join Tesla's Assembly Line

Milan Kovac, who is listed as "Optimus (Tesla Bot) Engineering @ Tesla" on his X profile, said recently that:

When the time is right, our manufacturing lines will be added to that list.

Tesla is one of the very rare places on Earth with all the critical ingredients to make this actually happen, and the potential to shape a future of abundance for everyone.

What is the list? It's the list of things that has made the Tesla bot possible. This list includes:

- a fantastic group of passionate people working hard and well together

- a scrappy, flexible, flat & bureaucracy-free startup-like operating structure

- a large-scale AI training & evaluation infrastructure

- years worth of prior work on technology foundations for our cars, on actuators, batteries, AI chips and Autopilot software

- the backing and vision of a CEO who doesn’t shy away from tackling tough problems for the better of humanity

This is an exciting time for Tesla, as it is in the infancy of so many new products and software. It's like multiple startups in one company that is already selling EVs.

Speaking of Tesla's EVs, there's a heated debate going on right now about what Tesla's 2024 EV deliveries will be - check it out and see who might be right.

Multiple people in the Tesla community (including me) are on board with Optimus assisting with Tesla's manufacturing.

Dave Lee had this to say:

Can’t wait to see all the Optimus improvements in 2024!

Herbert Ong also said:

This work will prove to be one of the most consequential to all of humanity. Thank you team!

The Optimus humanoid robot has been seen in a CGI skit doing bulletproof testing on the Tesla Cybertruck, as well as being revealed doing squats and handling eggs with its tactile sensors on its hands.

It's also important to note that reports that say the Tesla Bot is the cause of injuries at Tesla are absurdly misleading and wrong.

When Will Optimus Assist With Manufacturing?

Elon Musk has already said that the Tesla Bot will do repetitive tasks and dangerous tasks. At Tesla, there are likely both of these in high number. It makes a lot of sense for Tesla to utilize its own humanoid robot in its own factories.

Tesla BotThere's an eventual technological singularity approaching for Tesla, where the company will mostly be run by AI and bots doing manufacturing. Humans will simply be trainers of the bots and watch to make sure everything is in working order.

In a few years time, once the Optimus humanoid robot has shown that it can do repetitive tasks successfully, I think it will be used for transporting materials across Tesla's factories.

Once it's doing that well and trained on other things, such as putting things together, I think it will assist in putting parts of Tesla's cars together - as well as building other Optimus parts.

After that, it's anybody's guess, but I think the Optimus humanoid robot will continually be trained with no end in sight to what it will do to help with labor.
