Subaru Outback Defies Conventional Wisdom; How It Scores Autobytel’s Best Wagon Award

The 2017 Subaru Outback defies conventional wisdom and scores Autobytel’s Best Wagon award. Why is the wagon so popular?

Wagons aren’t popular in the U.S., but Subaru’s SUV-alternative Outback defies conventional wisdom. The 2017 Subaru Outback wagon scores the best wagon award in the first annual Autobytel Buyer’s Choice Awards. It’s an award that doesn’t express Autobytel’s opinion, but the opinion of consumers looking for vehicles online. Autobytel says there is an ever-growing number of car buyers visiting their site who have researched the Outback and reached out to dealers to buy the wagon.

Why is the Outback so popular?

The website gives special recognition to vehicles across 17 categories and Outback is by far the most popular wagon in America that consumers want. The Outback is the hottest vehicle in the Subaru lineup. What sets the Outback apart from the rest?

The Outback is not a true wagon and it’s appealing to a wider audience in the U.S. than ever before. It’s bigger than a traditional wagon, and it features more cargo capacity, has a higher ground clearance, and it comes standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system for all-weather and weekend excursions away from civilization.

The SUV-alternative Outback also comes with more luxury than ever before. With the new Touring model, consumers can get a rich Java Brown perforated leather-trimmed upholstery and exclusive woodgrain interior finish for the first time. The new-generation Outback also comes with a suite of safety features when ordered with Subaru’s Eyesight driver assist system.

The proof is in the number of wagons Subaru of America sold in 2016. The Outback is now the best-selling vehicle in Subaru’s stable of vehicles in the US passing the Forester SUV. The 2017 Subaru Outback wagon just sold over 20,000 units in a month (December), a first for any Subaru vehicle. The Outback wagon defies conventional wisdom and is the best wagon in America, and scores #1 in the first annual Autobytel Buyer’s Choice Awards.

I'm one of those very happy 2016 buyers and agree 100%. After 4 months and one long road trip, we are glad we made this choice!

I have been a Subaru fan since 1994 when i had the opportunity to learn about the brand and the product. If like most who will research prior to buying something you will find this company is in a league of their own.
I have sold them for years and have lived in many parts of the country where there is snow, rain, sand etc. and i Love my Subaru more than any other vehicle i have owned.
