The New Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness Is Missing One Important Upgrade You Want

The 2024 Subaru Wilderness trim level is finally here for outdoor enthusiasts but it still needs one more essential upgrade. Check out the new Crosstrek Wilderness report here.

The all-new outdoor-themed 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness trim will be the hot model for Subaru of America. Wilderness gets significant improvements over the standard models. But it still needs a key upgraded for outdoor enthusiasts. There is still one essential feature you want.

The more rugged 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness comes with the newly re-tuned 2.5-liter Boxer engine with additional power and almost everything active customers want. The engine now delivers a more responsive 182 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque.

The new Crosstrek is missing a heated steering wheel.

The Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid trim was the only trim level with an available heated steering wheel, but Subaru of America has discontinued the plug-in hybrid. You can read the report here.

The Crosstrek Wilderness comes standard with the all-weather cold climate package with heated front seats, heated windshield with de-icer, and heated exterior mirrors, but no heated steering wheel.

2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness

The Crosstrek Wilderness is the Subaru of America's "go-anywhere" all-terrain capable subcompact SUV, and it's the ideal vehicle for cold-weather climates with standard Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, 9.3 inches of ground clearance, X-Mode, and dual function X-Mode. In addition, a younger demographic of customers with active lifestyles will use it for extreme off-pavement adventures and winter sports.

The most rugged and trail-capable Crosstrek has an upgraded suspension, all-terrain tires, more prominent wheel arch cladding, a metal front skid plate, unique hex-design LED fog lights, and an anti-glare hood decal in a matte-black finish. It has everything you want in an off-road-ready small SUV except a heated steering wheel.

What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness?

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness will be the most expensive Crosstrek trim level. The all-new Crosstrek Wilderness costs $33,290, including dealer destination and delivery fees.

An available option package for Wilderness includes a power moonroof, a 10-way power driver seat with 2-way lumbar support, and a Harman Kardon 10-speaker system with a 432-watt equivalent amplifier for an MSRP of $2,270. Why not include a heated steering wheel in the option package?

The 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness now has a heated steering wheel for the first time. Check out the report here.

The good news is the Crosstrek Wilderness will be built at Subaru's manufacturing plant in Lafayette, Indiana. As a result, customers in the U.S. will now have shorter wait times for the outdoor-themed model.

The outdoor-themed model is almost everything you hoped for. The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness arrives this fall, just in time for winter recreation in the snow. The heated steering upgrade would have been a welcome addition for customers in cold climates and outdoor enthusiasts who will use the vehicle for winter sports fun.

I have held off buying a new Crosstrek waiting for the 2024 to come out hoping that Subaru would have a heated steering wheel on this model. Not having a heated steering wheel may seem trivial for some, it is a deal breaker for me. Having a heated wheel with arthritis makes all the difference in the world. Subaru should know that many Seniors buy these vehicles, as a result losing sales over a simple add-on makes no sense, something they should think about in the future. Unfortunately, I cannot wait another year for a possible upgrade I must move on to another manufacturer.

I have a 2021 subaru crosstrek outdoor edition .I think this trim was only available in Canada .It has heated steering wheel, front camera ,and 2.5l engine .I would not trade it for the new Crosstrek wilderness with no front camera (great for parking) and no heated steering wheel .I don,t understand is there just added as a option same with the front camera .
