How Subaru Prepares WRX STI For Nurburgring 24-Hr

The 2016 Subaru WRX STI 24-hour Nurburgring team is in all-out prep mode to see if their race car is ready. Is the STI ready?

The team puts the 2016 Subaru WRX STI Nurburgring car through major paces for four hours in a pre-race to get ready for the actual event. The Subaru Tecnica International (STI) race team gets a 2nd place finish in the 4 hour event on Saturday. What is the race for? The STI race car had a major crash while testing in March and the team needs to make sure they have the WRX STI dialed in because the 24-hour Nurburgring race is just two weeks away.

How did the repaired car do?

This Nurburgring 24-hr pre-race is four hours of intense driving and teams can see where they are before the big day arrives. The 2016 WRX STI ran well and came in second place in the pre-race event behind its biggest rival, the Audi TT RS. The WRX STI won the race last year and teams are gunning for Subaru this year. The bullseye is squarely on the back of the Subaru WRX STI NBR.

Can Subaru get back-to-back wins?

The team wants to get back-to-back victories and it won’t be easy. During the next two weeks, leading members of the team will stay in Germany and continue to make adjustments to the 2016 WRX STI NBR race car. They will go through each part of the car making sure its ready for the grueling 24-hour race. The four-hour pre race prep showed the STI is close.

The 2016 Subaru WRX STI NBR race car is still getting dialed in for the 2016 Nurburgring 24-hour race. The race begins May 28-29, 2016. Can they get two wins in-a-row? Stay tuned.
