1996 Nissan Maxima the Company Bought Off Craigslist is Fully Restored

After buying a 1996 Nissan Maxima from a seller on Craigslist, Nissan fully restored it to its original glory and unveiled to, appropriately, the original owner. Now they have their own tongue-in-cheek video to show it off.

Don't worry, everyone, that 1996 Nissan Maxima that was so famously placed on Craigslist with a viral video showcasing its "luxury" options, resulting in its purchase by a Nissan executive has not been lost. The car, in fact, has been completely restored. Better still, the hilarious video that started it all has been followed up by another funny video contracted by its new owner and made by the original owner.

Luxury Restored showcases how Nissan lovingly and painstakingly restored the $1,400 1996 Maxima to original, like-new condition. As per Nissan fan instructions. It took six months and a lot of exclusive tools and white glove treatment, but the Maxima.. it's Luxury Restored.

"This Craigslist ad was hilarious and incredibly well done, so we jumped at the opportunity to pick it up and have some fun with it," said Erich Marx, Nissan Director of Interactive and Social Media Marketing. "Thanks to an overwhelming response from the online community, we decided to do a full restoration to the vehicle, ultimately resulting in this playful video."

Note the luxury fittings such as the "advanced navigation" and "all-new media entertainment center" the car sports.
