A New Hot Wheels Hellcat Charger arrives in Dark Red

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has quickly become one of the most popular castings in the Hot Wheels world and for those collectors out there who have been hunting the other Hellcat toys – you have one more tiny super sedan to add to your list.

While the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat have sold far better than anyone within FCA had expected – with nearly 25,000 examples of the 707hp muscle cars being sold for 2015 and 2016 – these two supercharged machines have proven to be very popular among enthusiasts who aren’t in a position to spend $60k+ on a new car. This passion for the Hellcat cars from those folks who aren’t planning to buy the real thing has made Hellcat-based collectables incredibly popular, and with relatively few items on the market – finding these Hellcat toys has become tough.

Well, the hunt is about to technically become a bit easier, as Mattel is rolling out the newest Hot Wheels Hellcat, in the form of a dark red Dodge Charger SRT.

The New Hellcat Charger
The newest Hellcat car from Hot Wheels does not actually sport the Hellcat name. Like the other Hellcat Challengers and Chargers, the car has the Hellcat head logo on the fenders and stamped on the chassis, but the Hellcat name doesn’t appear on the car or the packaging. The casting is simply called the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT, but the logos and the styling make it clear that this is a Hellcat car.

This is the 5th Hellcat Charger from Hot Wheels and as part of the “Red Edition” line which is offered exclusively by Target, this dark metallic red is the second red Hellcat Charger, but it is the first in this particular red and the first red car with this flashy Mopar livery along the sides. The first red Hellcat Charger was a traditional “fire truck red” with a simpler stripe package. As you can see in the image above, this Hellcat Charger also has some great card art, for those of you who collect carded cars and it should be noted that the Hellcat head logo does appear on the card art – although the Hellcat name does not.

This new Hellcat Charger from Hot Wheels is hitting the market now, joining the previous Hellcat Chargers in bright red, white, blue and black. You can get this Hellcat for around a buck at your local Target, but if you are too impatient for the hunt, you can get these cars on eBay for $5-6.
