Hyundai Veloster will have a 1.6 liter turbocharged motor

The news about Hyundai Veloster having a 1.6 liter turbocharged motor just came out of SEMA and was announced at a dinner where Torque News was present. It is debuting soon in the United States and probably relates to the 2012 Hyundai Veloster.

The Managing Editor of Torque News Patrick Rall, who is at SEMA just reported from a dinner party from Las Vegas that a major change is coming to Hyundai Veloster. Not many details are yet known, but this is what was reported.

"Im at a dinner with hyundai and their CEO John Krafcik announced that the hyundai veloster will have a 1.6 liter turbocharged motor. No specs yet, but this is the first official announcement. The turbo veloster will debut at the Detroit Auto Show."

This may or may not relate to the updated version of 2012 Hyundai Veloster, but it is coming in the upcoming Detroit Auto Show, which will be held between Jan. 9 to 22 of 2012. The car itself may come out in late 2012 or early 2013. Hyundai has not disclosed this information yet.

The 2012 Veloster debuted at this year's Detroit Auto Show in early 2011. The following gallery of the 2012 Hyundai Veloster shows that debut in images.

The new Veloster is known to customers with its aggressive design and 3rd door functionality. The modern look and best-in-class interior volume result in a sporty look and powerful attraction.

This story will be updated as more information about the 1.6 liter turbocharged motor becomes available.
