C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Available from Hertz for $250 a Day
While most rental cars are as inexpensive as possible regardless of the size, it has become more and more common for rental car companies to offer higher priced, more exciting models like the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. While several companies have adopted the practice of offering some more luxurious and higher performance models, Hertz is the granddaddy of high performance rental cars with their “Rent a Racer” program dating back to the 1960s. Considering that Hertz has the most experience renting performance cars as part of their Adrenaline Collection, it seems fitting that they are the first national company to offer the awesome new Corvette.
The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Hertz rental cars are available only as a fastback (for now) in Velocity Yellow or Blade Silver with a black hood stripe and a black interior. These C7 Corvette fastbacks are all fitted with an automatic transmission and while the full details aren’t available, I would guess that they have the 6-speed automatic transmissions of the 2014 model year. Also, the images on the Hertz website show a car with the Z51 package and although it seems unlikely that a rental version of the new Corvette would have the most popular option package, renters might be lucky enough to get the upgraded performance goodies of the Z51 package.
Provided that the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray fastbacks that Hertz is renting are moderately well appointed and they do come with the Z51 package, we are talking about a car that carries an MSRP that ranges from $58,000 to $63,000 – a price that most people cannot afford. Fortunately, the new Adrenaline Collection from Hertz offers you the chance to drive the new Corvette Stingray for just $250 a day. That is a pretty pricey rental car, but for the deep pocketed executive looking to enjoy his or her drive while on the road or the average Joe who wants to have a couple days of fun to celebrate a birthday – the Hertz Stingray is there to deliver.
The C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray joins the Dodge Challenger R/T, the Hertz Penske Ford Mustang GT, the Chevrolet Camaro SS, the C6 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, the Ford Mustang GT Premium and the Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible. The bad news is that the Corvette Stingray – like the entire Adrenaline Collection – is only available in a small group of markets including Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix and San Diego. So, if you live in one of those metropolitan areas, for just $250 a day you can roll around your hood in a new Corvette Stingray while other Corvette lovers who don’t live near any of those cities can begin to plan their visit so that they can rent the C7 Corvette.
