Toyota Elevates the 2024 Grand Highlander with an Adult-Sized Third Row

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander will be a stretched version of the midsize SUV it shares its name with. Toyota will unveil this model at the Chicago Auto Show on February 8. According to Toyota, adults will have enough space to be comfortable in the third row.

Toyota announced the 2024 Grand Highlander last December and released a second preview today focusing on the SUV's third-row seating.

Judging by its name and a few clues, this new model should be a stretched version of the mid-size Highlander that will get a revised rear end treatment.

In the first image that was released in December, the Grand Highlander appears to feature new taillights that are inspired by the Sequoia, under which the new model will be positioned in Toyota's lineup.

Inside, the biggest change from the current Highlander will likely be third-row and cargo space, as Toyota says adults will be able to comfortably seat the rear.

Indeed, the manufacturer wants to make the Grand Highlander a favorite for family trips by giving it enough space to accommodate up to 8 passengers (just like the current Highlander) and up to seven pieces of luggage at the same time.

In the image that accompanies this latest preview, an adult can be seen sitting in the third row seat which has plenty of legroom.

"Sure, the middle seat in front of him looks like it's been pushed quite far forward, but there still seems to be enough room to accommodate adults in all three rows at the same time, which is generally difficult in mid-size SUVs," writes Antony Lemonde in the Ecolo Auto.

Specifications or equipment are not known at this time, but the Grand Highlander is expected to share its platform and mechanics with the regular Highlander, meaning it is expected to be powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. and that it could offer a hybrid engine because people want the 2024 Highlander to be hybrid.

Cutting-Edge Comfort Features

The new third row of the Grand Highlander is designed with comfort and convenience in mind, featuring ample legroom and headroom for adult passengers. In addition, the Grand Highlander is equipped with a number of cutting-edge comfort features, including:

Fuel Efficiency

Despite its spacious interior and cutting-edge features, the new 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is also expected to to be fuel efficient. With its advanced engine technology and aerodynamic design, you can enjoy a smooth, efficient ride without sacrificing power or performance.

We will know more details about this future 2024 model in a week, when Toyota unveils it to the public on the eve of the Chicago Auto Show.

Looking to buy a Grand Highlander, but don't want a 4 cylinder or hybrid. Hoping it has a 6 cylinder engine like our 2021 Platinum Highlander. Like to know what type of engine is in the Grand Highlander for 2024 Model.
