Note that in the past the Volt battery pack had been characterised as "steel plate with a plastic shell" but if you look closely at GM's pictures of the pack - it's some kind of industrial grade high strength plastic. Not tupperware quality, in other words. I recall writing up something about this 3ish weeks ago.
