After trailing the Chevrolet Camaro in September and October sales, a combination of a sales surge for the Ford Mustang with the worst sales month of the year for the Camaro has allowed the Mustang to climb back to the top of the muscle car chart – even as sales slump across the segment compared to last year.

After featuring a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat owner who was able to run an 11.08 ¼ mile time with a 100% stock-to-the-tires car, today we bring you a look at a Hellcat Charger owner who was able to run slightly quicker in stock form – seemingly making this car and driver combination the quickest of the Hellcat community in stock form.

When the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was introduced, it came with the quickest official quarter mile time of any stock muscle car – with NHRA certified figures of 11.20 with the stock tires and 10.80 with drag radials – but this past weekend, a Hellcat Challenger owner in Maryland ran a stunning 11.08 quarter mile with every factory components including the stock Pirelli tires.

Bill Gamble took his record-setting Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat back to the track this past weekend and thanks to a combination of seat time and good air, Gamble’s supercharged Mopar muscle car was able to reset two of his own world records while claiming a new record – the quickest modern Hemi-powered car with a manual transmission.

If you are looking for a Christmas gift for that special someone who happens to drive a high performance Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep or Ram vehicle, the team from Mopar has a group of new items out ahead of Black Friday – with items for men and women, young and old.

The internet is ripe with talk of how the V8 engines in the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger will soon be replaced by a twin turbocharged V6 and while I believe that we could see a twin turbo V6 in the Dodge muscle cars in the future – I don’t believe for a second that the next generation Challenger or Charger will be without a V8 engine option.

While I hadn’t realized it, all of the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat cars we have featured running in the 9-second range have been running high octane race gas, but earlier this week, Robert Lamb ran a 9.993 with his Hellcat Charger running on 93 octane gasoline – making his supercharged Mopar the first to run in the 9s on pump gas.

When the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was introduced last year, it came with a certified quarter mile time of 10.80 with drag radial tires, but a handful of owners have found that when well driven – the Hellcat Challenger with good, sticky tires will run well into the 10.60-10.70 range.

This past weekend, a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with absolutely no power modifications ran a 10.56 quarter mile – setting the record for the quickest Dodge Hellcat car running on 100% stock power.

This past weekend in Pomona, California, Ron Capps and his Don Schumacher Racing Dodge Charger R/T claimed the 2016 NHRA funny car championship for the first time in the driver’s storied career – and his 3 DSR teammates all joined him in the top 5 of the final season standings.

FCA doesn’t officially break down the Challenger and Charger sales by trimline or engine choice, but a company representative has confirmed that during the course of 2016, 33% of the Dodge muscle cars sold were fitted by either the 485hp 392 Hemi or the 707hp Hellcat Hemi.

While the 1950 Dodge D100 shown above doesn’t preface a future high performance model, this crate Hemi-powered rat rod pickup was among the most popular old school rides at the 2016 SEMA Show – with a crowd gathered around this patina-clad machine all week long.

While the Charger was the less popular of the Dodge Hellcat cars for the second year in a row, there more than three times as many Hellcat Chargers built for 2016 than were built for the previous model year – with more than 4,000 examples of the 707 horsepower super sedan offered up to dealerships around the country.

Mopar didn’t bring out a customized Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat to the 2016 SEMA Show, but the crew from SpeedKore brought out their new carbon fiber bodied Challenger with a Whipple-blown Hellcat Hemi – and it is really the only Hellcat you Need to see from SEMA.

The Ram Brand introduced a Hellcat-powered Ram Rebel last month, but the “Hellfire” Ram 1500 from the 2016 SEMA Show is the supercharged Ram truck that we really want – looking like the perfect modern day replacement for the Dodge Ram 1500 SRT10.

It has become quite popular for owners of classic Mopar muscle cars to swap in one of the modern Hemi engines from the Dodge Challenger, so to make that conversion even easier, Mopar has introduced turnkey crate engine packages for the 5.7L and 6.4L Hemi – offering R/T and SRT power in your old school machine.

The SEMA Show has announced their awards for the “Hottest” vehicles of the 2016 show, with the Dodge Charger being named the inaugural Hottest Sedan of SEMA while the Jeep Wrangler claimed the title of the Hottest SUV of SEMA for the 7th straight year – allowing the Jeep to remain the only SUV to win the title since it was introduced back in 2010.

There have long been rumors that Dodge has been working on an SRT-level Durango with the 392 Hemi, and while this beautiful machine is only a SEMA Show concept right now – this 485 horsepower beast has all of the makings of a great high performance sport utility vehicle.

The production information for the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has been posted on the enthusiast community site Hellcat.org and while they have a ton of statistics on the 707 horsepower muscle car, the key figure is 11,955 Hellcat Challengers sold for 2016 – roughly 67% more than the 2015 model year.

Earlier this week, the white Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat built and tuned by High Horse Performance set a new Hellcat quarter mile record, running a 9.29 at 147.29 miles per hour – beating the previous record of 9.46 that was set by this same car earlier this year.

The first official information proving that there is an all-wheel drive Dodge Challenger coming to market has arrived in the form of a listing on the EPA Fuel Economy website – listing a 2017 Dodge Challenger GT with the Pentastar V6 and the same fuel economy figures as the AWD Dodge Charger.

This past weekend, a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat driven by Brian Studey ran a 9.48 quarter mile time at Great Lakes Dragway in Wisconsin, leaving him just 2 hundredths of a second short of tying the overall Hellcat quarter mile record – which was achieved with a little laughing gas.

Those Mopar fans in Australia who have been hoping and praying for a Hellcat Challenger or Charger might be out of luck, as a new report indicates that the Dodge brand could be leaving the Aussie market altogether in the near future – seemingly removing what little chance there was of the Hellcat cars being sold Down Under.
