I decided to see what the internet is talking about, and here is what I found.

Converted Prius Takes A Road Trip
A Prius driver set out on a three-month-long road trip. The Gen 3 Prius that they used included a secondary LiFePo battery, inverter, and solar panels.

The 200w system was certainly enough to keep them going on the road and power all their basic needs. Prius road trippers and campers are increasing in number, and this setup is no exception.

The rigid mounted solar panels are not my favorite where the lines are run, but the system does work and keeps the owner happy, and what else matters really?

No surprise here that catalytic converter theft is still running strong on the Prius front. Toyota is the largest buyer of catalytic converters worldwide, and with Prius have a dense concentration of precious metals in theirs, it makes sense.

Scrap value for converters is still around $1,000 for a Gen 2 Prius and can be more depending on where you live. People have gone to great lengths to protect their converters by using shields and other types of deterrents, but theft rages on.

Conclusion
Toyota Prius is a car that will continue to be talked about for decades to come. Whether it be because of fuel economy, cost of ownership, or all the strange things people do with them, the car is legendary in its way.
