Why Hertz is Trying to Give You a Great Deal on a Special Edition 2019 Corvette Z06

Hertz is trying to fight off bankruptcy and that means some good deals on great cars, including the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

The Hertz rental car agency is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. It appears Hertz is selling off some of its premier trophy vehicles, like the 2019 Hertz Special Edition Chevrolet Corvette Z06, as it tries to fight off its creditors. The fact that company is off-loading its top of the line cars mean you can get them for great deals.

Chevrolet sold Hertz 100 Special Edition Chevrolet Corvette Z06s to help celebrate Hertz’ 100th anniversary. Now, Hertz is selling many if not all of them. At least twenty have been sold on Hertz’ online site and at their used car lots. The prices, around $60,000, are listed as no haggle and the Corvettes have fairly low miles. The Hertz website says delivery is available.

The 2019 Hertz Special Edition Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Hertz describes the performance cars this way, “With the iconic Hertz yellow tint coat and dual black lines that proudly display the company's color scheme, this special edition Corvette will help you show your appreciation for a brand that's been with you every mile of the way.

Beyond the color scheme, interior stitching and special Hertz badging, this pre-owned special edition of the Corvette Z06 really delivers the goods when it comes to a high-end muscle car. Powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, the Corvette Z06 delivers an astonishing 650 horsepower with 650 pound-feet of torque, with the car's underpinnings, shocks and suspension system working in perfect harmony to give you that sports-car feel for the road.”

Special Editions are Instant Collectibles

The obvious Hertz paint scheme means the vehicle should be a collector’s item because only 100 of the anniversary edition were produced. Chevrolet’s halo vehicles also include premium Bose 10-speaker audio systems. The infotainment systems are controlled through an easy to use 8-inch touchscreen.

At this point Hertz isn’t saying if or when all 100 of the special 2019 Chevrolet Corvettes Z06s will be sold. At last check three are still on the company’s online site, all selling for about $60,000, which is well under the going price.

Other Premier Vehicles Also Available

Jalopnik first reported that Hertz was selling the Corvettes but now Autoweek has found some premier 2020 Hertz Special Edition Camaro ZL1 coupes for sale as well. Hendrick Motorsports, known for its racing prowess, outfitted certain ZL1 Camaros for Hertz. The Hertz Camaros with Callaway superchargers kick out 750 horsepower.
Selling these top-of-the-line performance cars won’t raise the hundreds of millions of dollars that Hertz needs to drive out of the current financial storm, but it should raise several million to help the company in the short term. Plus, the sales will give real car lovers some great wheels at great prices.
