Bidirectional Charging With the Tesla Cybertruck: Can the Cybertruck Charge TWO Other Tesla's, And Can a Cybertruck Being Charged Charge Another Tesla Model 3

There is a video of the Cybertruck - two Cybertrucks doing bidirectional charging, as well as trying to charge another Tesla while being charged. Here are the results.

Cybertruck Bidirectional Charging

The Tesla Cybertruck is getting a lot of attention for its many new features, such as having steer-by-wire, as well as we now know if you can sleep in the back of a Cybertruck since the inner dimensions were measured with a tape measure.

In this instance, Kim Java did some tests with two Cybertrucks and another Tesla vehicle, a Model 3, using a 110-volt connection from the Cybertruck that is charging another Cybertruck.

Kim wanted to see if she could charge another Cybertruck from another Cybertruck. A basic Tesla charger was plugged into one Tesla Cybertruck, and the other end was plugged into the charge port of the second charge port.

The charging worked. It pulled 32 amps, and 15 miles/hour - about on par with a basic level 2 charger. This adds proof that you could use the Cybertruck as a portable power source for the home.

More Charging Results from the Cybertruck

Kim had this to say about her experiment with bidirectional charging with the Cybertruck:

This is what happens when you get a whole bunch of nerds together. We have a little bit too much fun.

She plugged in the 110-volt connection in the power source from the Cybertruck charging the other Cybertruck. She then plugged in the charger to the Model 3. The charging was very slow - a maximum of 12 amps and likely 2 to 3 miles per hour - just like a basic outlet would charge a car, so no surprise there.

The Cybertruck is equivalent to about 9 to 10 Tesla PowerWalls and can act as a mobile power source. You can charge another Cybertruck and a Tesla Model 3 from ONE Cybertruck.

The last test was can the Cybertruck being charged in this scenario charge the Model 3 - using the high voltage NEMA adapter. This was plugged into the Cybertruck being charged and then plugged into the Model 3, but charging was not allowed and not initiated.

They unplugged and plugged back in, but verified charging couldn't happen. If a Cybertruck is being charged, it cannot charge another EV. However, a Cybertruck not being charged can charge TWO other EVs.
