The Italians are coming: 2014 Fiat 500L storms beach in California

If you haven’t seen the new 2014 Fiat 500L video you need to. It’s a brilliant piece of marketing depicting what could have been if the Italians had invaded the U.S. instead of the British. Things would have been much more exciting as the Italian automaker would have us believe. The Italians have already arrived on U.S. shores one month ago when they brought the first 2014 Fiat 500L via the port of Baltimore. And now, they have stormed the beach on the West Coast.

The Fiat ship has dropped anchor in the National City Port of San Diego, California and the all-new 2014 Fiat 500L and 500L Trekking have just arrived on the West Coast. The Italians want to make sure that the California market gets plenty of new Fiat 500Ls to satisfy every buyer who wants one. California is expected to be the main market in the U.S. for the new 500L accounting for as much as 20 percent of the sales.

Jason Stoicevich, Head of FIAT Brand for North America said, “From east to west and from north to south, we want to make sure that every customer who wants the all-new Fiat 500L can get one as soon as possible. The addition of a new point of entry in California, our main market in the country accounting for 20 percent of our total sales, makes it easier and faster for our studios and clients to get their hands on this hot new car.”

The San Diego port received over 300 2014 Fiat 500L models yesterday as the Italian automaker continues to pore cars into this country. It looks like the Italians are succeeding with the invasion as initial sales of the new 500L have already exceeded expectations. Stoicevich added, “This year, we launched the Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio, the all-electric Fiat 500e and now, with the five-passenger Fiat 500L and 500L Trekking, we have a 500 for every lifestyle.

The all-new 2014 Fiat 500L is based on the 500 and expands its appeal by offering 42 percent extra interior space with seating for five, engaging driving dynamics, a 160 hp 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and two six-speed transmission offerings.

The 2014 Fiat 500L Trekking expands the appeal and practicality of the Fiat 500L with distinct, rugged looks, an athletic two-tone interior environment, unique front and rear fascia designs, flared wheel arches and larger 17-inch wheels to set it apart.

The new 2014 Fiat 500L and 500L Trekking models are produced at the Fiat Automobiles plant in Kragujevac, Serbia and have just invaded both coasts. If you are in the market for a vehicle with Italian style, European technology and great value, look no more, the Fiat invasion has arrived.
