What are the best summer tires for a Subaru Crosstrek road trip? So when we were asked to test the all-new Goodyear Wrangler Steadfast HT tire, we said yes because we were ready for a long road trip from Parker, Colorado, to Galveston, Texas. Driving the 1100 miles from Colorado to the beach at Galveston Island is always an adventure with road construction, heavy rain storms, and countless different road surfaces. So how did the tires perform? Subaru Crosstrek road trip Goodyear says the new Wrangler Steadfast HT is a highway-focused tire and was the ideal test for the long trip. "The Wrangler Steadfast HT tire is Goodyear's strongest-performing highway tire to date, according to the company." We found the new Wrangler Steadfast HT tire to be perfect on the highway. We topped speeds over 75 mph, and the tires were quiet and exceptionally stable. We encountered heavy rain in central Texas, and the tires had minimal drift and hydroplaning. The tires shed the water and kept us steady at high-speed interstate driving. Subaru Crosstrek road trip The Steadfast HT is a premium all-season tire offering a design that provides solid wet performance and enhanced ride comfort. In addition, Goodyear added DuPont Kevlar in the tread to give puncture and heat resistance. The Kevlar also protects against pothole damage and other hazards. We found the Wrangler Steadfast HT perfectly suitable for the unpaved sandy roads, and we felt confident driving on the deep sand on the beach.
