Demand for 2016 Subaru WRX/STI keeps Japan factory humming

Subaru Japan is producing the 2016 Subaru WRX and WRX STI performance cars as fast as they can. Where are they selling the best?

The Subaru factory in Gunma, Japan is pumping out the 2016 Subaru WRX/STI performance models as fast as they can produce them. The Japanese automaker makes the WRX and WRX STI performance sedans in Japan and exports them to their global markets in North America, Europe and Australia. Subaru also makes the Impreza compact and Crosstrek in Gunma and is having trouble producing enough to keep up with the demand worldwide.

Subaru reports a record high month in August for exports from Japan with an increase of 6.3 percent mainly due to the continuing demand for the new 2016 WRX/STI along with Crosstrek and Impreza. Sales are the hottest in the U.S. market. Hot sales of the WRX/STI have helped Subaru of America post the second consecutive monthly sales record with the best-ever August.

WRX with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 268hp with sport suspension and WRX STI with the 2.5 liter turbo 305hp powerplant with performance suspension are popular with performance enthusiasts all over the globe and especially here in the U.S. They are also selling well in Australia.

The 2016 Subaru WRX and WRX STI siblings received new safety tech and infotainment features for 2016. 2016 Subaru WRX STI Series.Hyper.Blue special edition models are coming next. Subaru will only build 700 examples of the WRX STI model. Subaru says they will offer the Hyper Blue color on the outside and offer it with matching interior trim. WRX will not be offered in the Series.Hyper.Blue in the U.S.

Demand continues to be at high levels for the performance sedans in the U.S. as FHI keeps their Gunma, Japan factory humming to produce enough of the performance cars.
