2013 Toyota Camry NASCAR racer design released

The best-selling car in America, the 2013 Toyota Camry, is also a NASCAR racer with a great new look.

Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) have teamed up to release photos of the new 2013 Toyota Camry that will race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS). The car has an aggressive new look that very well replicates the look of the street Camry, particularly the SE model. The front grill treatment captures the Camry’s look exactly and the rear bumper and some of the side features also have the distinct look of the street car.

New For 2012 Toyota Camry
The Toyota Camry was redesigned in 2012. Although the car is completely updated it still has the look of the previous car. The lines appear sharper and there is a bit more chrome treatment sprinkled on top. The headlights are well integrated into the corners of the fenders and have a pulled back look that adds a bit of aggression to the family car. Unlike Ford and Chevy, two only other NASCAR entrants that promote models made in the United States, the Camry will still be available with a powerful V6. Camry Racer Represents the Camry Passenger Car
Making the race car look like the street car is extremely important to Toyota for obvious reasons. Although all NASCAR race cars share many chassis components, the rules do allow for some body designs that differ. Commenting on this Ed Laukes, TMS vice president of marketing communications and motorsports sayid in a press release “We’re thrilled to finally unveil our new 2013 Camry and we think NASCAR fans will really appreciate that our new on-track Camry looks like the one in their driveways. Our 2013 Camry looks more like the production vehicle than ever before, and we hope this helps revitalize the long-standing relationship between fans and manufacturers in NASCAR. Never before have we had a Camry competing in NASCAR that looked so similar to its production counterpart.”

Camry Is The Best Selling Car Made In America
The Toyota Camry that is sold in the US is only made in the United States. In fact, cars.com has voted the Camry “The Most American Car” for three straight years. It has been the best-selling car in the US for the past 10 years. Not the best in its class – the best-selling car, period.

Look for the 2013 Toyota Camry NSCS car to make its debut in Daytona this coming February.
