C7 Corvette Becomes a Carbon Fiber Cop Car in Germany

The Corvette Stingray shown above was created as part of the Tune It Safe initiative for safe aftermarket modifications in Germany. This program was launched back in 2005 and it includes a variety of show cars like the police-spec Corvette along with the Tune It Safe magazine. The ongoing goal of the Tune It Safe initiative is to constantly show off customized performance cars that look great, but which have been modified in a way that preserves all of the safety measures from the factory.

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a very popular performance car on a global scale, so Tune It Safe chose the modern American supercar as their latest vehicle to customize safely. German tuner Tikt Performance handled the build, adding a carbon fiber body package that introduces a more aggressive front fascia, wheel opening flares, deep reaching side skirts and a low profile rear spoiler. Next, Tikt added aggressive new wheels measuring 19 inches up front and 20 inches out back, all of which are wrapped in high performance Hankook tires. Finally, a Hella lighting system is added up front and the entire car was given the police car treatment – making this one of the coolest cop cars outside of Dubai.

The performance of this customized Corvette Stingray was left unaltered, but with the LT1 V8 laying down 460 horsepower and 465lb-ft of torque, it will still hang with just about any car it comes up against on any road in any country.

This Corvette Stingray cop car doesn’t look quite as tough as the Corvette Z06, but especially across the front end, this C7 looks just as menacing as any of the kits I’ve seen online – especially in the European market. Best of all, for those folks in Germany who own a C7 Corvette Stingray and who want a custom look, this package meets all of the safety requirements and expectations of the German government and the Tune It Safe initiative.
