2016 Camaro Public Debut Set for the Woodward Dream Cruise

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will make its formal public debut later this week at the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise, with both the coupe and convertible version of the 6th gen Camaro being displayed in the full Chevrolet brand area – although I would be stunned to not see the new muscle car at the Chevrolet Performance display 2 miles down the road.

While General Motors would like to call the debut of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro coupe on Belle Isle a few months back a public event, it was very clearly a private event with a limited number Camaro fans being admitted along with a list of other folks from around the industry being carefully picked by the automaker. Space was very limited and tickets were impossible to get unless you signed up in the first few hours, so while plenty of pictures and videos came from the event – the Belle Isle debut of the new Camaro was a private affair.

The 2016 Camaro has also been displayed at a few events around the country, but none of them were public - or the car wasnt actually on display.

Fortunately, the many Camaro lovers who were unable to get into the Belle Isle event will be able to meet the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro at this weekend’s Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit – presenting the first general public their first chance to see the 6th gen GM muscle car.

3 Areas for Camaro Fans to Hit
While the manufacturer’s areas for Ford Motor Company and the Chrysler Group are concentrated in one specific area, General Motors actually has three key locations that any Camaro, Chevy or GM fan have to be sure to visit this Saturday at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

First up, as we mentioned last week, the Camaro Corral is back for its second year, offering Camaro fans a chance to see a massive spread of privately owned Camaros from the first 5 generations in one area. The Camaro Corral is located in Pleasant Ridge – just south of I696 along Woodward Avenue. Click here for more information on the Camaro Corral.

Next up we have the Chevrolet Performance display, which is just a short distance from the corner of 13 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue. With this smaller display being in the heart of the Dream Cruise, I would be blown away if they didn’t have at least one 2016 Camaro on display along with a look at some of the goodies coming for the next gen muscle car. Miss Linda Vaughn will also appear in this display, for those car guys out there who still remember Miss Hurst Golden Shifter.

Finally, the official Chevrolet display is located a couple miles north of the Chevrolet Performance display, at the junction of Old Woodward and Woodward Avenue in Birmingham. This is the location where we know that GM will show off the 2016 Camaro coupe, the 2016 Camaro convertible and the 2016 Chevy Volt – in addition to the rest of the modern Chevy lineup.

Of course, in addition to these official Chevrolet display areas, we are sure to see plenty of Camaro, Corvette and other Chevy show cars on the road and parked in the hundreds of packed parking lots along the cruise route.
