Can a Tesla Engine Survive a Flood?

Tesla Engine in a flood

This video report answers the question if Tesla engine can survive a flood or if you can drive a Model or Model Y through water.

Tesla vehicles don’t have engines. They have electric motors. They appear to be pretty much water proof.

"Building an electric motor this way is easy, except that it makes it harder to cool it, if you’re using it hard," writes Glen McMillian in Quora. Really cheap electric motors have open frames that allow air to circulate through the interior of the motor, and there’s usually a fan to make sure plenty of air flows for cooling.

McMillan says "More expensive enclosed motors use ribs or fins sticking out on the outer housing for radiant cooling and are built to run more efficiently, producing less waste heat."
