Tesla announced today the 4th iteration of their referral program. Instead of spending million on advertising similar to other manufactures Tesla has spread by work of month and the power of social media. Once again you can purchase a Tesla vehicle using a referral code from an existing owner and receive $1000 credit towards a new Model S and for the first time a $1000 credit towards a new Model X. The existing owner whose referral link you use can receive prizes as well Tesla will be giving away an invitation to the Gigafactory opening event, a set of 21” custom Arachnid wheels, and a few “surprises along the way”.

The grand prize for the existing owner will be a Ludicrous P90D Model X.

Driving an electric vehicle requires more education than a traditional ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle. Who better to educate new owners than existing ones at least this is Tesla’s theory and the reason they started the referral program. Everyone is curious and tend to ask lots of questions about an electric vehicle current owners find themselves fielding questions about range, performance, service, etc. After all owners are the best source for real world battery range and the more general question “What is it like to drive a Tesla?”

If you are thinking of purchasing a Tesla and have benefited from these articles you can us this referral link for $1000 off the purchase of a new Model S or Model X. More importantly what is your opinion on Tesla’s referral program do you think it is a good way to spread the word and sell more vehicles?
