Today Cars Started Driving Themselves 10-15-15

On Monday, I wrote about the planned downloading event to Tesla S P85 cars equipped with the driving sensors. Today Tesla made good on their word and started sending version 7 software out to the Model S cars that were built from October 2014 on through to today.

The car is not totally autonomous however the new highway and lane change functionality of this car is only the start toward the fully functional self-drive vehicle.

There are a couple of test drive videos on Youtube and a video is worth much more than a written word in this case. I strongly suggest you check out the following videos that demonstrate this new technology that is the stepping stone to fully autonomous driving.
