What are the most popular new electric vehicles with new car shoppers? It's not any Tesla model, it's a Subaru. Check out the surprise top electric model with shoppers right now.

Right now, the most popular new electric vehicles show which models are hot and which are cooling off. It's not an indication of which new electric car is the best, but those trending up with shoppers. In Subaru's lineup of all-wheel-drive vehicles, the Outback midsize SUV is the best-selling model, followed by the Crosstrek subcompact SUV and Forester compact SUV.

The three models are in the top thirty most researched new vehicles on the Edmunds new model search list. But the all-electric 2023 Subaru Solterra is getting the most attention now with SUV shoppers. Solterra was the 13th most researched new car last month in July. The Solterra EV is now in the top ten most researched new vehicles and has moved to number six in August.

2023 Subaru Solterra is gaining in popularity

Interest in electric vehicles is soaring, and the all-new Subaru Solterra is a top-researched new model according to Edmunds research data by new car shoppers. The Solterra is Subaru's first electric model and is gaining in popularity with new car shoppers.

Solterra is more popular than any Tesla model.

The 2023 Subaru Solterra EV is the only electric vehicle in the top ten models in August, and the next electric car is the Tesla Model Y, at number twenty-six on the Edmunds' list.

Edmunds says, "At last, Subaru has gotten into the EV game with its all-new 2023 Solterra SUV. It comes from collaborating with Toyota, which builds its related bZ4X EV in the same plant."

The interest could be due to Subaru's special incentives and financing of the Solterra right now. We checked Subaru of America's special offers page, and Solterra has special offers not offered on any other Subaru model. Subaru of America offers 0.9% APR financing or lease for $399/month on new 2023 Solterra EV Premium trim levels through October 2, 2023. SOA provides a 36-month Lease for $399/month with $2,899 due at lease signing.

Subaru of America is advertising the special 2023 Solterra financing rate on its main vehicle page, which is unusual. It shows they want to sell more Solterra EVs available to customers now. The Solterra also makes Consumer Reports Best Deals on Fuel-Efficient Cars and SUVs list.

Where are the Outback, Crosstrek, and Forester?

The 2023 Subaru Outback midsize SUV is number 17, the 2023 Subaru Forester compact SUV is number 21, and the new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is 29th on the Edmunds most researched new cars list in August.

It's more popular than the Tesla Model Y and the most researched Subaru model. The Solterra is ahead of the best-selling Outback, next-generation Crosstrek, and Forester compact SUV.
