The new Mercedes-GLA-Class gets put to the female test [video]

With over half of new buyers being women, it’s important that Mercedes-Benz caters to them with the new 2015 GLA-Class. Mercedes-Benz Reporter Yasmine Blair puts the new 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA to the test in Granda Spain. While she says the “S” in SUV stands for sport, for her, the “S” stands for sexy in the new GLA-Class compact luxury SUV. But she likes the power under the hood of the standard GLA 250. But when she gets in the new GLA 45 AMG, she has even more fun and is thoroughly impressed. Which one will she choose?

Mercedes-Benz created the new 2015 GLA-Class for a new generation of active millennial consumers who have never purchased a Mercedes vehicle before. And many of those new buyers will be women. Just like the new CLA-Class four-door coupe, the GLA is attracting new buyers to the German luxury brand. With GLA, its all about conveying the freedom that the new compact SUV offers. It had a go-anywhere attitude for young active buyers. And women will be drawn to the GLA for a number of reasons.

The GLA-Class will be a global vehicle and it opens up the world to this new generation of women who are adventure seekers and freedom lovers. The new GLA creates a new segment in the luxury compact SUV market. It’s a sexy new entry into an untapped market and Mercedes is leading the way.

GLA will appeal to young active females who will use the premium compact SUV for commuting and recreation. Most of these buyers will use the GLA for daily urban commutes during the week and for watersports and mountain activities on the weekend. It looks like Mercedes hit the right formula with the new GLA premium SUV. Taking the all-new 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class to Granda Spain, is the ideal place for Yasmine Blair to test the GLA. It has plenty of open road, and urban shopping.

Yasmine also climbs aboard the new 2015 GLA45 AMG that features the most muscular four-cylinder engine in series production anywhere in the world. AMG introduced it in the 2014 CLA45 AMG. It gets the same AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 355 hp (265 kW) and maximum torque of 332 lb-ft of torque. It has the power to excite any performance fan. How fast will the new GLA45 AMG go? It will launch from 0-60 in less than five seconds.

Mercedes-AMG uses a combination of the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission to deliver power to all four wheels. And Mercedes is targeting a young group of buyers to the brand with the new premium compact AMG vehicles.

So which 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class did Yasmine Blair choose? She’s a woman and it’s her prerogative not to choose. She couldn’t decide because she liked both. But after watching the video below, my guess is, she liked the hot GLA45 AMG just a little better.
