Performance enthusiasts are getting more performance from the new 2017 BMW M240i. It gets more power and torque and the new-generation 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine. It will begin arriving this summer. How much additional power does it get? The new inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine develops 335 hp, a 15 hp increase in maximum power output over its predecessor. The new engine has an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque, 39 lb-ft more than before.

How quick is it?

The 2017 M240i Coupe will be quicker too. The new engine produces the same performance levels as the 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe. It will launch from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than its predecessor. The new 3.0-liter mill is fitted with an aluminum crankcase, aluminum cylinder head and new acoustic shielding. BMW says the twin-scroll turbocharger is integrated into the steel exhaust manifold and electric wastegate control makes it more fuel efficient. It also uses an indirect intercooler integrated into the intake manifold.

Both 2017 BMW M240i Coupe and M240i Convertible come mated with the latest generation of the 8-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic transmission as standard. Rear wheel drive models are available with a six-speed manual gearbox as a no cost option.
