The first all-new fifth-generation 2015 Subaru Outback made its global debut at the New York International Auto Show in April with much fanfare. Now the first new Outback wagon to roll off the assembly line makes its debut at the Subaru plant in Lafayette, Indiana. The team of workers at Subaru of Indiana gathered to celebrate yesterday as the first new 2015 Outback that rolled off the line. This is what has made Subaru so successful. They build great multi-purpose all-wheel-drive vehicles. This new-generation Outback is the latest example.

This marks the beginning of production of Outback that has been produced at the U.S. SOI Indiana plant for 19 years. The Subaru wagon has had a very successful run here in the U.S., Subaru’s number one market in the world. The new XV Crosstrek has passed Outback and it’s now third in sales behind Forester and XV. Subaru is hoping this new-generation model will spur sales for the all-purpose vehicle.

New-generation Outback gets updated

The all-new 2015 Outback offers the roomiest interior, most capable chassis and highest fuel-efficiency in the model’s history. It gets a new updated exterior design, and cabin refinements making it the most refined Outback yet. But Outback won’t be sitting in the driveway on the weekends. The new multi-use wagon has a newly updated all-wheel-drive system making it even more capable off-road.

Other new features include enhanced safety features and the new infotainment system. The SIA associates cheered the first totally re-designed 2015 Subaru Outback as it rolled off the line and the celebration saw a Gray Metallic model be the first one off the line. The first model was met with a flurry of confetti and applause as SIA’s Executive Vice President, Tom Easterday led a countdown to its emergence from the production line.

Subaru shows us how to be successful at anything

At the celebration yesterday, Tom Easterday said, “We are extremely proud of all the SIA Associates who have built a very high level of quality into every Subaru Outback assembled at SIA over the last 19 years”, stated Easterday, “The Outback has been vital to the growth of SIA and the Subaru brand in the United States.  With outstanding fuel economy, an enhanced infotainment system, additional safety systems, and other features and styling that will make it very attractive to potential Subaru customers, the new Outback will continue to play a vital role in the growth of SIA and the Subaru brand.”

The all-new fifth-generation 2015 Outback wagon that just rolled off the assembly line is the latest example of what Subaru does best. They build great multi-purpose all-wheel-drive vehicles. This new-generation Outback is the latest example. We could all learn a lesson from Subaru. Go to work everyday, create a niche market, don't deviate from your plan and do it better than anyone else on the planet.
