What are the best cars and SUVs for people over 6-feet tall? Just like people, not all vehicles are one size fits all. Consumer Reports (by subscription) did an extensive study and found the best cars and SUVs for tall people. Surprisingly, Subaru has two models that make the 10-best list. The 2021 Subaru Forester and the 2021 Subaru Legacy sedan win their categories.
You usually don’t think of Subaru as building the roomiest cabins, but Subaru’s design offers taller drivers more room than other models. The 2021 Subaru Forester wins the Best Compact SUV, and the 2021 Subaru Legacy takes home the Best Midsize Car for tall drivers.

Both models ride on the Subaru Global Platform that offers more interior room than previous-generation models. It uses a modular chassis and the new platform allowed Subaru to increase driver and passenger space in the new-generation Forester and Legacy.

The 2021 Subaru Forester and Legacy picked up more awards. They are also CR’s 10 Top Picks of 2020 and Best Cars of the Year. The Forester and Legacy have the highest overall scores in their categories, factoring in road tests, predicted reliability, owner satisfaction, and safety scores.
What is the price of the 2021 Subaru Forester?
The 2021 Forester comes in five trim levels. The Forester base has an MSRP of $25,845, Premium ($28,845), Sport ($30,445), Limited ($32,445), and Touring ($35,945. Pricing includes $1,050 destination.
How much does the 2021 Legacy cost?
The 2021 Legacy comes in six trim levels. The sedan starts at $22,895 for the base trim, Premium ($25,145), Sport ($27,095), Limited ($29,895), Limited XT ($34,445), and Touring XT ($36,145). Destination adds $1,050.
The 2021 Subaru Forester and 2021 Legacy win the Best Compact SUV and Best Mid-Size Sedan categories. They have the most room for taller drivers over 6-feet tall.
