The October 2nd unveil for the concept will herald a new beginning for the Infiniti line with its top-of-the-line model becoming the new Q80 based on this Q80 Inspiration fastback coupe.

The four-passenger car will be low-slung, aggressive, and very premium, Infiniti promises. The teaser above shows that the car will be in a near-saloon style with roughly 50:50 proportions from hood to cabin. Few other details are available, but given the placement of the Q80 in the lineup, we can make a few conjectures.

Infiniti calls the Q80 "lon-legged" and the teaser definitely hints at a long wheelbase car. From there, the company has two engine options for the car if they use what's in their current repertoire: a 3.7L V6 or a 5.6L V8.

The 3.7 could come out of cars like the Q50/Q60 while the V8 would come from vehicles like the QX80. It's not hard to imagine a big eight-cylinder engine powering this luxury sport coupe and "disturbing the status quo" as Infiniti promises the car will.

Officially, the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration unveils at the Parc des Expositions de Versailles in Paris on October 2 at 15:30 local time. This appears to be a design unveil only, so we may not have more information on the car until it gets nearer to production, which Infiniti seems to be saying will happen, but hasn't made firm.
