Think City Electric Vehicle Will Cost $34,000

Brad Berman writing at PlugInCars.com has revealed exclusive information about Think City electric vehicle pricing: it will cost $34,000 to purchase one of the all-electric vehicles that will have a range of about 100 miles. Think expects to sell less than 3000 of its vehicles in the U.S.

Think City Marketing Plan

According to Berman's article, Think will sell just 2,000 to 3,000 cars in 2011 via three to five branded stores in highly targeted city locations. The stores will probably be located in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Washington, DC and Indianapolis, near where the company will assemble the cars and where generous consumer incentives will be available.

Think says its Think City is already the best-selling electric vehicle in the world. According to the company's website, "The Think City is currently used all over the world in a variety of applications. Since 2009 it has continued its work as a fully equipped ambulance in The Netherlands, on an island named Terschelling. One of the West Frisian Islands, a large portion of Terschelling is a nature reserve with the goal of becoming CO2 neutral. The THINK City ambulance is contributing to this goal by supporting the island’s medical services with vital transport and first aid needs."

The company says it is "a pioneer in electric vehicles and a leader in electric vehicle technology, developed and proven over 20 years. This heritage gives Think a head start with nearly 10,000 electric vehicles on the road and more than 56 million kilometres (35 million miles) of customer experience. The Think City, the first EV to be granted pan–European regulatory safety approval, is sold across Europe, with sales and production about to start in the US and operations being developed in Asia."
