Moscow Female Drivers Get Extra Police Attention on March 8

Women's International Day, which is celebrated worldwide on March 8, is a big deal in Russia; and Moscow's Police says it will show extra respect and attention toward female drivers.

Moscow police will be especially courteous and helpful with female drivers on March 8, said Moscow's Transport Police Chief Vladimir Kolokoltsev. He made the announcement last Saturday, speaking to reporters.

He also said on March 8, the representatives of the beautiful sex will not be punished for minor traffic violations created by their driving. He added that the women usually have no problems with law enforcement officials, and that March 8 is not an exception.
