A new report based on insider information suggests that the supercharged Hemi in the Hellcat powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will have less power than the Challenger or Charger – although it should still be enough to make it the best performing utility vehicle in the world.

The Chrysler Group has announced another large recall, this time calling back 322,000 examples of the Dodge Charger due to side impact sensors that might be too sensitive – possibly leading to the airbags being triggered by something as simple as slamming a door or hitting a hard bump in the road.

The Chrysler Group has recalled around 1.4 million vehicles as a result of a problem with their vehicle software that may allow a hacker to access the control system, but poor reporting by most large media outlets have turned this problem from a simple fix for a questionably troublesome issue into what seems to many to be a massive risk to the general public.

Since the first batch of 2015 Jeep Renegade reviews have gone to press, there have been the expected groups of skeptics insisting that this new Renegade is nothing more than an Italian-built rendition of the Compass or Patriot, but having had the chance to put mileage on all three – I can comfortably say that the new Renegade is better in every way.

Mopar fans and lovers of very fast SUVs have been clamoring for a Hellcat version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and while a 707 horsepower Jeep would be incredible – the success of the Hellcat Challenger and the expect popularity of the Hellcat Charger are likely the biggest issues preventing the Chrysler Group from dropping the supercharged Hemi into a Grand Cherokee in the near future.

The have been rumors for a few months now that the SRT version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee could soon drop the “SRT” in favor of the new Jeep-specific package name Trackhawk and more rumors on the removal of the SRT name from the Jeep brand, I wonder if we will see the Trackhawk as soon as the 2016 model year.

Since the new Jeep Cherokee was introduced with a unique exterior design that has garnered a great deal of negative attention, but if you can look beyond the unusual headlight design, this midsized Jeep offers plenty of interior space, an impressive level of cargo space, impressive fuel economy and the go-anywhere capabilities that you would expect from a modern Jeep SUV.

When the SRT brand folded earlier this year, the future of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT was questionable and while there is still no official word from Chrysler, it seems that the SRT Jeep could end up wearing the name Track hawk - or this could be the name of the Hellcat Hemi powered SUV.
