Just over a week ago, the folks from the Guinness Book of World Records removed the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport as the world’s fastest production car due to a concern about possible modifications made to hit the record speed but after a short period of review – Guinness has reinstated the Veyron Super Sport as the world’s fastest production car.

Just days after the Guinness World Records crew stripped Bugatti of their “world’s fastest car” record, the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse has quickly stepped up and claimed the title of the world’s fastest roadster with a recorded speed of 254.04 miles per hour with the top removed – although this newest Bugatti record may come with a bit of a catch.

Bugatti posted a picture earlier this week of what appears to be the doors of an airplane hangar with the simple explanation that they would soon “share the latest example of exceptional Bugatti performance” but no other information was offered – leading us to wonder what the Italian supercar builder will introduce via the social networking universe.

According to the folks at Bugatti, the final Veyron EB 16.4 has been sold to a customer in Europe and while the Grand Sport model remains available, all 300 of the Veyron EB 16.4 hardtops have been sold.

This automotive jewel needs complete restoration, but the engine and many original parts are still there. The Bugatti 16C Galibier originally debuted at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show as nothing more than a concept but according to insider sources familiar with the matter, the Galibier has been given the greenlight by parent company Volkswagen Auto Group to build the super-premium luxury sedan.
