Don't Forget About the Tesla Van - It's Coming and Will Be Built On the Cybertruck Platform: Amazing for Families

The Tesla van is a forgotten vehicle with all the Cybertruck news lately. However, this vehicle is coming, and it will be built on the Cybertruck platform. It will be amazing for families.

Tesla Cybertruck Has Been Stealing Spotlight From Tesla Van

The Tesla Cybertruck has stolen most of the Tesla news lately. Now that we have moved past the delivery event, where the prices were revealed, we're into the first phase of delivery, which involves delivering the Foundation series Cybertrucks to early reservation holders.

Tesla is delivering the first 1,000 of these Foundation series Cybertrucks. I think that only 1,000 are going to be made for the Cyberbeast and AWD variants, however, Tesla has yet to say if they are doing only 1,000 or more than that, so be sure to check back often for updates on the amount of Foundation series Cybertrucks.

Once the initial celebrities are done being seen with their Cybertrucks, we are mostly likely going to start seeing other people with their Cybertrucks in videos and in posts. One X user has even created a Cybertruck fundraiser/sponsorship to help pay for a Foundation series Cybertruck, and he's raised $10,000 out of the $100,000 he needs, that's 10% of the way there!

I don't think I could get away with doing a fundraise/sponsorship for my Cybertruck order, simply because I don't have the following that Whole Mars Catalog does. Still, it's nice to see people supporting him, and I do believe that he will also bring value to those that sponsor him in the form of rides or other perks.

He's the only person I've seen actually try this - doing a sponsorship to help him buy his truck. He's stated that if you sponsor $999 or more, he will promote your page/business, or give you rides and let you take a tour of it. For some with a lot of money, this may not be a bad idea, since the wait list for the Cybertruck is probably pretty long.

I'll be sure to check and see if there is anyone else on X that is showcasing their Cybertruck, but for now, let's talk about the Tesla Van, which will be built on the Cybertruck platform.

The Tesla Van Will Use the Cybertruck Platform

I think the Tesla van will use the Cybertruck platform. I don't see how it couldn't. It's going to utilize the 48-volt architecture, which Tesla sent as a free guide to other auto companies, as well as steer-by-wire, and many of the other features that make the Cybertruck great, such as a structural pack 4680 battery underneath it.

It should also have a stainless steel exoskeleton to offer protection in the event of damage or a crash, but it will likely have to be modified somewhat for the needs of a van. I don't think it will need 17 inches of air suspension, so don't expect to see that in it.

I think Tesla should offer variants of it with only the front and passenger seat with a completely empty back for those who want to live "the van life" off the grid.

The van on Tesla's roadmap for future vehicles is covered up, but will eventually be revealed - I think by 2025.

Tesla will hopefully work to make its van accessible to those with disabilities, which may include things like a built-in ramp and wheel-chair. For those who use a wheel-chair right now, getting into a Tesla vehicle, especially in a crowded space, is a nightmare.

Some of this will be solved with automated summoning of the vehicle, but there's still the challenge of getting into the vehicle once it has been summoned to you.

The price of the Cybertruck is pretty hefty, and I think the van will be even more than the Cybertruck price. If Tesla plans on making 100,000 of these vans in the U.S. a year, that would be a great start. It seems that around 380,000 commercial vans are sold a year, after I looked at multiple online sources.

Don't expect to see the van until the Cybertruck ramps to volume production. Once that happens, Tesla will begin moving forward with the other parts of Master Plan part 3, such as the compact car and the van. We might even see the new Tesla Roadster at some point, but it will still be a few years.

The van will be amazing for families because it will be big, more roomy than the Cybertruck, a Model X, or a Model S, and have more headroom.

In the meantime, if we hear anything more about the Tesla van, we'll be sure to cover it for you, so check back often for more Tesla news!
