Marginal new car efficiency improvement saving MILLION$

Of the 12.778 million light vehicles sold in the U.S. last year, a modest fleet-wide efficiency improvement of one half mile per gallon totaled a savings of $722 million at the gas pump. It also reduced the U.S. millions of barrels a day consumption habit by 214 million gallons of petrol, according to analysts at TrueCar.com. Divided among those cars and light trucks that’s roughly $60 each.
