The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed their investigation into the Ford F150 pickups powered by the popular EcoBoost V6 after deciding that there is no need to recall those 360,000 trucks due to a power loss issue - with no further action required by the automaker and that means no recall of their most popular pickup.

A few weeks ago, Tonight Show Jimmy Fallon announced that he was in the market for a new full size pickup and after weeks of deliberation - and showboating by automakers - Fallon has announced that he will purchase a 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch, but he will have to wait a while as the 2015 F150 isn’t scheduled to arrive in dealerships until later this year.

In recent weeks, GM has been getting criticized over its lack of rebates with their new full-size truck offerings. Specifically, sales volume has been down. Critics have wondered, where are the incentives to spur on sales? According to GM's CFO, this sales slow down is all part of the plan.

There has been talk for years about bringing back a "true" compact truck, ala the 1970s-80s size, back to the U.S. market. For many truck buyers, the new pickups have grown too large and too powerful for their needs. Many think a Chevy LUV type vehicle may do very well. Apparently, GM does too and may be seriously considering bringing one to the market.

The latest shot heard round the auto industry came today as Ford Motor Company announced that the 2015 F Series Super Duty lineup will feature a revised 6.7L PowerStroke diesel that will have more horsepower, more torque and the highest towing capacity in the class – although there is a catch of sorts.

Since the 2015 Ford F150 was introduced at the 2014 North American Auto Show in Detroit, the news that the next generation half ton Ford pickup would weigh 700 pounds less has some F Series fans concerned that the upcoming trucks won’t be able to work as hard as the current models – but I am here to assure you that there will not be any reduction in capabilities due to weight reduction.
