Steel wheels may make a come back in fancy cars

A study by an industry group which supports the steel industry has confirmed that stylized steel wheels can be cost competitive and lighter than aluminum alloy wheels. According to the results of the project, a steel wheel that is still stylish enough for upscale vehicle applications could offer as much as a 40% savings in cost, while weighing about the same as aluminum.
