Bentley's SUV, the Bentayga currently offers only one engine choice; a twin-turbo 6.0L W12 producing 600 horsepower. But more engines are on the way.

Dutch publication Autovisie reports that Bentley will use the 4.0L V8 diesel found in the Audi SQ7 TDI. This V8 with its twin-turbochargers and electric compressor produces 435 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The Bentayga already has a key component needed for this engine - the 48-volt electrical system which is used for the active roll stabilization system.

Are there any other engines being considered?

We know that a plug-in hybrid version is being worked on, though it is unclear when we'll see it. There is also talk about a Bentayga Speed that would likely use a tweaked version of the 6.0L W12. Finally, we think that a gas V8 engine - possibly the one found in the Continental GT and Flying Spur - could be added as an option.
