With the release of the new right around the corner, what’s going to happen to the Lexus LX600? Sequoia

It’s almost time to start welcoming big beefy Japanese SUVs by the name of Sequoia to the U.S roads. Within the next few months, you will start to see these beasts roaming our roads and either hauling kids, boats, or your wife to where they need to go. However, I think behind all of this hype we as enthusiasts are missing something. What about the brand-new redesigned Lexus LX600 that’s coming out as well?

I typically don’t cover Lexus that much, but I distinctly remember seeing a lot of hype on some forums about this particular SUV. It shares the same platform as the Tundra and Sequoia and just like both cars, is very luxurious. However, Toyota has a tendency to maneuver cars around when new ones come out. They discontinued the Avalon in exchange for the new Crown. They stopped selling the Land Cruiser in exchange for the new Sequoia. What will be Toyota’s plan for the Lexus LX600 once the new Sequoia hits the streets?

Well, it turns out the Lexus GX600 was one of the major competitors against it’s cousin the Sequoia. I think that now more than ever is reliability tested over modernity. If you look at a fully loaded Sequoia and a base model LX600, they are basically the same in price and amenities. I would say the LX600 has a tad bit more if you got the packages.

I also think that between Lexus and Toyota, both are reliable, but the Sequoia is a more family friendly option to put it. It’s just the type of car you can get dirty and not get a kick to the gut feeling.

I think if you were to put both SUVs side by side, looks and practicality would go to Toyota but if you are more worried about reliability and luxury, I would go with Lexus. I only say reliability because we don’t know what happens in the first year of production. Just look at bZ4X and early model Tundras.
