Hennessey Performance is developing a new Venom F5 Supercar that will take aim at the Bugatti Chiron for world's fastest production series super sports car.

John Hennessy is all about taking American cars and making them insanely fast. Now he will build his own American-made Venom F5 Supercar that will take aim at the Bugatti Chiron for world's fastest production series super sports car. The Venom F5 is named after the the F5 tornado and Hennessy wants this hypercar to approach speeds close to 300 mph. If anyone can do it, Hennessy Performance can.

Hennessey, who’s main shop is 45 minutes west of Houston, Texas will be expanding his facility to make room for his new company, Hennessey Special Vehicles. This is where he is designing and building the new Venom F5 and where the supercar will be unveiled later this year.

Hennessey has been building fast cars his whole life. This is the same team out of Sealy, Texas who built Steven Tyler’s 1200 horsepower 2013 Venom GT Spyder. They also took a stock 2013 Cadillac CTS-V and built the 1,226 hp Hennessey 2013 Cadillac CTS-V supercar and set a world record 220.5 mph on Texas SH 130 in October 2013. Up until now, the Venom GT was his fastest creation ever at 270.3 mph, but that is about to change with the Venom F5.

Venom F5 is all-new from the ground up

The Venom F5 will be an all-new vehicle built from the ground up at the facility in Texas. It will feature a unique chassis and design, which Hennessy says will enable it to reach speeds approaching 300 mph. He did not reveal what will power the Venom F5, but it will be a creation with even greater power levels than anything the’ve built before. It will feature improved aerodynamics and ultra-light weight “which will yield the ultimate in performance.”

CEO, John Hennessy says, ”We are very excited about our F5 and that it brings forth an all-new design and chassis to achieve even higher performance through improved aerodynamics and technology. The best way I can describe the Venom F5 is that it is sophisticated aggression on wheels. We look forward to sharing F5 with the world later this year.”

The new Hennessy Special Vehicles company doesn’t have the money that Bugatti, Ferrari and McLaren have, but he says they do have the creativity, enthusiasm and passion it takes to build the world’s fastest production super sports car. They will have some backing from Shell Oil and Pennzoil to help pull this off. Later this year, Hennessey will unveil its all new hypercar, the Venom F5. Stay tuned.
