12 Cars Proven to Get 200,000 Miles by Consumer Reports – 7 Toyota Models Made the List (Did RAV4 Make the Cut)

Did Toyota RAV4, Camry, and Highlander make this Consumer Reports list of the most reliable 200,000-mile cars?

Consumer Reports has an interesting list of the most problem-free cars, trucks, and SUVs to make it to 200,000 miles and even longer.

Since I cover Toyota news at Torque News, I immediately started thinking of the Toyota models that would have made the cut.

Toyota RAV4 was up there in my mind, considering how popular the entire RAV4 family – RAV4 gasoline, RAV4 hybrid, and RAV4 Prime – have been for the last several years.

I suspected that Camry, Prius, and Tacoma must have been placed on the list as well. Highlander is as dependable as it gets – and owners keep these often for well over 10 years.

Time to see how I did.

Consumer Reports Longevity List

To make the list these sedans and SUVs and trucks must 1) last well over 200,000 miles and 2) be more problem-free than other models.

“The rank is based on the percentage of vehicles with zero problems reported in the past 12 months,” according to Consumer Reports.

I am still anxious to see how Toyota RAV4 scored.

  1. Toyota Camry
  2. Honda Accord
  3. Honda CR-V
  4. Toyota Prius
  5. Toyota Sienna
  6. Ford F-150
  7. Toyota Corolla
  8. Toyota Highlander
  9. Toyota 4Runner
  10. Toyota Tacoma
  11. Honda Civic
  12. Honda Pilot

2023 Toyota RAV4 Not on List

This was a strong showing by both Toyota and Honda, which really should come as no big surprise.

These are the two brands potential buyers can purchase with peace of mind and be right about it more often than not.

Seven Toyota models made the list, which is incredibly impressive for one automaker – especially with over 30 car brands on the market to choose from.

When you look at a lineup centered around cars like Toyota Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Prius, Sienna, Tacoma, and 4Runner, it is easy to see why people say, “Toyota sells itself”.

2023 RAV4 Hybrid

I really did expect Toyota RAV4 to make this list, especially with how strong 2023 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid are faring in the consumer market (the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid outsold all other Toyota hybrids for the first half of this year already).

Clearly this evaluation is based on vehicles that have already made it past 200,000 miles (that is the whole point of this list, after all).

It will be interesting to see how RAV4 does in future rankings.

Time for Your Consumer Reports Comments
