There is a video showing a would be vandal trying to break into a Tesla Cybertruck. Thanks to the shatter resistant window, he was unsuccessful.

Cybertruck: Vandal halted by shatter resistant window

The Cybertruck is already proving to be a great surprise and continues to get coverage. When I saw this video of a vandal trying to use what appears to be a brick to break the passenger side window of the Cybertruck, I was very surprised by the result.

I expected the windows of the Cybertruck to be strong, but I didn't expect them to take a brick that was hurled at it to snap back to the vandal, forcing him to try and dodge his own weapon being used to break in.

It's unclear if the Cybertruck in this video has a version of the bulletproof windows that can't be rolled down or not. I'd say that if these windows are not the bulletproof versions, then this is a very impressive display of shatter resistant windows by Tesla.

Now, of course, you have to take anything shown on video in today's day and age with a bit of skepticism as it is possible this video could have been staged.

Update: It looks like this video was altered using digital technology. The actual vehicle can be seen here at this URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EobH9CAe3k

Safety and Protection of the Tesla Cybertruck

This deserves some focus and after watching this video, it's safe to say that the Tesla Cybertruck will be Tesla's safest vehicle ever - by far.

There is a stainless steel exoskeleton, which will be able to withstand bullets.

The Cybertruck has shatter-resistant windows that appear to be able to stop a brick.

For someone driving the Tesla Cybertruck, they have Hardware 4 and eventually FSD v12, which will enable software to drive better than the average human.

You have a giant frame that is exceptionally strong, and I look forward to seeing this in crash testing. I bet the steel frame of the truck can withstand quite a lot of pressure before crumpling in.

This is shaping up to be a very strong and safe vehicle, and I think this is going to be a big selling point for many people.

Tesla claims that the Cybertruck will have shatter-resistant windows, even though a steel ball broke one of the windows at the unveiling event in 2019.

It was later revealed that using the sledgehammer against the door weakened the windows first, and that's why they shattered at the unveiling event.

Tesla has also had 4 years of research and testing to make the windows even better.

What do you think about this video - was it real and do you think the Cybertruck has shatter-resistant windows?

Worked for a company that built military vehicles with actual “bulletproof” glass, aka “transparent armor” and this isn’t the same. Probably thicker tempered glass, read “heavy and expensive to replace” but actual armored glass is tempered glass with a various layers of composite behind it. The glass will start to crack after a few rounds and the composite holds it together a while longer.
