The Hyundai Palisade just got released with a few convenient upgrades that new car shoppers will appreciate. There is also a new trim level available called the Calligraphy model.

Hyundai’s top of the line SUV that we all know and love, the Palisade just got a few new updates for 2021. It’s not fully redesigned or anything, but I know Hyundai has a habit of redesigning cars rather quickly. For the 2021 model year, Hyundai is offering some tasteful updates as well as a new trim level known as the Calligraphy model. Expect to see the new 2021 Hyundai Palisade hit showrooms this month, July 2020.

2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Model

Starting with the new Calligraphy model, it essentially adds features to the Limited trim. Expect to get HTRAC AWD with AWD lock, downhill brake control, and a snow mode. Exterior wise, the Calligraphy model gets new 20” alloy wheels, a unique grill, “premium” side door garnishes, “premium” rear-accent lighting signature, ultra-wide LED center high-mount stoplight (whatever that is), and some puddle lamps. The interior receives some additional touches like quilted-leather door panels, microfiber-suede headliner, cargo sill protection plate, and perforated-leather steering wheel.

2021 Hyundai Palisade Improved Options

Some of the pragmatic changes that took place with the 2021 Palisade is the Premium package which got more features added to that package. Hyundai did this because there were some common options that buyers liked to equip their Palisades with, so they bundled up many of those common options into the Premium package. These high-demand features include the 10.25-inch infotainment screen, Highway Drive-Assist, SiriusXM Radio, Blue Link, and Driver Talk (an intercom system to talk to your kids in the back seats).

Other changes include HD radio, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto will come standard on the SE trim and above that don’t have the navigation package. LED headlamps will come as standard for all models while SEL and above trims will get a sunroof and LED map-interior lights. If you like towing, Hyundai has you covered by upgrading from a 4-pin connector to a 7-pin connector, a thoughtful touch. Finally, a “premium” mélange headliner got added to the Premium package. Hyundai hopes this repackaging of options will help make the already popular Palisade just a bit more enticing.

Hyundai Palisade Owners Are Extremely Happy

Hyundai Palisade customers have been pleased with their purchase. Hyundai says nearly half of Palisade buyers weren’t even considering a Hyundai product, which proves the positive growth of Hyundai’s brand perception. 60% of Palisade buyers were conquest buyers meaning they traded from a competing vehicle, and 77% of owners said their opinion of Hyundai improved after ownership of a Palisade. 98% of Palisade buyers said they would recommend a Hyundai product to friends and family, so it is clear that by making quality products like the Palisade, the brand perception has improved. Many have been commenting on my Hyundai car reviews saying that Hyundai should rebrand; however, that’s unnecessary because people’s perception has just naturally improved due to over a decade of producing quality cars.

2021 Hyundai Palisade Conclusion

The figures listed above are an excellent sign for Hyundai moving forward. We have also seen sales going up for the Palisade despite it being the most expensive product in Hyundai’s lineup. Hyundai has grand plans for EV vehicles and Hydrogen fuel cell cars, and to be the leader they strive to be, they need to continuously improve its brand perception by making quality cars like the Palisade.

Would also like to know if/when the Palisade will include automatic power folding side mirrors. I've had this on my 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum and really love that feature.

Please remove the reference to a 7-pin connection (electrical, for towing) from this article. It is inaccurate and highly misleading. The 2021 Hyundai Palisade is still equipped with 4-pin, which means in most states you cannot leagally or safely tow more than about 1,500 pounds as anything over this weight requires the tow vehicle have a separate braking system...which uses 7-pin and not 4-pin!
