The Prius has given us so much. It is versatile, fuel-efficient and affordable. Every good thing has time though. Here is what you need to know about the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid, a new rising star.

I love the Prius. I want every Prius owner to know that millions adore the car. It has inspired me to become who I am today, teaching people about the hybrid life and loving every minute of it.

Every good thing has an end, though, and the reign of Prius looks as if it is coming to an end. Or is it? Here is what you need to know about the Toyota Rav4 hybrid and how it is affecting Prius sales.

Toyota Prius Vs Rav4 Hybrid 2019 Sales
Prius has been a hybrid segment dominator for many years. Toyota made that segment happen and, for decades, has kept the Prius at the top of the game. As the years have rolled by, the choices consumers have been making have shifted. More people are reaching for the small SUV or crossover. Toyota has seen this and has reacted.

Knowing that their hybrids are the best on the market, Toyota reached into the small SUV segment and experimented. They bonded their best selling small SUV with their best hybrid. The result has been phenomenal.

Last year Rav4 hybrid sold just over 92,000 units while Prius staggered behind at 69,718. Does this mean Prius is going to be replaced by another car like Corolla or Rav4? I doubt it. It does make a statement, though.

What This Information Means
Prius is most likely not going anywhere. There will always be a market segment for the awesome little car that has changed the way we transport people around the globe. I think though, as people grow their families who started in Prius, now want something a little more versatile and family-friendly.

Rav4 hybrid also is budget-friendly as well. It is thousands less than the Highlander and still gives you that feeling of having an SUV that is both fuel-efficient and family-friendly.
