Take a test drive tour of 2020 Lexus RC F. It is more than just pure adrenaline. It is an excellent icebreaker and can bring people together too.

I recently had the opportunity to evaluate the 2020 Lexus RC F. This is a Lexus 2-door sport luxury coupe and it designed for people who enjoy good old fashion adrenaline. Or refined speed. Or getting to know people better.

What a weird comment to make – “getting to know people better.”

I came into my review period with a preconceived set of opinions and impressions about RC F.

I left feeling something completely different.

Oh, the Places You’ll Go

I believe Dr. Seuss said this phrase best when he wrote about seizing new opportunities and experiencing moments.

“Oh, the people you will see.”

When I started my review, I really fell in love with the looks of 2020 Lexus RC F. However, I did not realize the people I would meet because of it. Within the first hour of getting my demo, three different people approached me and the car and asked to take pictures of it.

The next day, a man pretty much racing a Mustang Shelby down a 45mph road in town slowed down to give my wife (and RC F) a thumbs up from the passenger side as he then accelerated up to around 70 and flew by. I told her he must have thought she was hot.

Then, on a lazy Saturday morning perfect for a Lexus test drive, my wife told me to roll my window down at a red light. As I looked out the window next to me, I saw a beautiful white Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road with XP Package wheels and tires. The guy driving it told me, “Your car is awesome!” I then told him I was actually admiring HIS 4Runner and asked if that was an XP Package.

One step closer to world peace, my friends. Having a love for cars can do that.

2020 Lexus RC F Performance

RC F is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine, 32-valve DOHC with Dual VVT-i, and is matched with an 8-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission. It produces 472 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. torque. This is the largest and most powerful Lexus engine made.

Yes, it is powerful, and it is fast. In fact, it can accelerate from 0-60 in 4.20 seconds. The 2020 RC F Track Edition is even quicker, taking just 3.96 seconds from 0-60.

I was impressed with the ride quality and handling. Lexus RC F is equipped with various driving modes (Normal, Eco, Sport S and Sport S+) to give you better fuel efficiency or more spirited acceleration and handling based on your preference.

Let the people be heard

My Instagram page and YouTube channel followers had great things to say about 2020 RC F.

“Such a sexy car.” Commented car reviewer and YouTube influencer TRD JON.

“Blows away BMW’s and Mercedes!” Boasted George.

“Omg. Soooo hot.” Said Breanna.

Cliff is happy with his Lexus purchase. “Love my rcf. I’ve had mine at 130mph and it was smooth and lots of pedal left.”

I agree with them on so many levels. I tested RC F on several winding country roads while in Sport S+ mode.

Suspension stiffened right up and hugged the tighter curves like a champ. I felt completely in control of the car and the road.

TEST DRIVE: Take a tour of 2020 Lexus RC F interior, exterior and test drive impressions.

At highway cruising speeds, 2020 Lexus RC F glides over the road. There were times I found I was driving faster than I thought I was due to how relatively quiet and “gliding” it felt. Yes, of course there will be some road noise with this much muscle under the hood. We have to put this in perspective.

Lexus RC F interior

Surprisingly spacious. I never really thought I would use this term to describe a sports coupe. Interior cabin space felt larger than I expected.

My wife and I both agreed that the two-tone leather seats were comfortable and provided good neck and back support. I guess it does not hurt to have standard 10-way power driver and passenger seats.

Seats are form-fitting, so to speak, and do hug around you. I wonder if a person who is more on the wider side would be as comfortable.

Instrumentation is laid out well and is highlighted by a 10.3-inch multimedia screen.

The one feature I could never master without distraction was the remote touchpad. This is where you navigate the multimedia screen to perform your functions. Since the screen is so far away from the driver, it would be impractical and unsafe if Lexus made this a touch screen. I tried to use dynamic voice commands as much as possible, which helped a great deal. The system is quite intuitive.

Speaker system for 2020 Lexus RC F

Crystal clear sound system. Kickin’. Rockin’. Maybe that is how to best describe the optional Mark Levinson audio system I evaluated. Comes with a whopping 17 speakers and an 835-watt amplifier.

Really impressive and is one of the key features I recommend you add if you are considering purchasing RC F in the near future.

I’ll Take “Lexus Potpourri” for $600 please Alex

Lexus RC F has a factory MSRP of $64,570.

When equipped with options such as 19-inch 20-spoke BBS wheels, premium triple-beam LED headlamps, dynamic navigation and stereo upgrade, orange Brembo brake calipers, Premium Package and moonroof the MSRP increases (along with the value) to $78,849.

Buyers can choose from five color choices: Ultra White, Atomic Silver, Caviar (Black), Infrared, and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0.

2020 Lexus RC F is Apple CarPlay compatible but does not offer Android Auto at this time. Sorry Android users.

Time for your thoughts on 2020 Lexus RC F

Oh, and I also got this email from one of my “Toyotajeff” YouTube channel followers after I posted my video review.

“I used to own an RC F and one night outside a bar a pretty woman walked right up to me and asked about my car. We started talking. Fast forward a couple years. She’s now my wife!” Thanks Peter in Miami.

Maybe, just maybe, I have stumbled upon some sort of hidden secret – that a Lexus RC F is the ultimate icebreaker. Probably not. But maybe.

What do you think of Lexus RC F? Are you a fan of sports cars, and if so, where does this rank on your scale?
