There is a new blacked-out appearance package for the 2019 Toyota RAV4. See what it is and how you can get it on your next RAV4.

If you have been researching small SUVs anytime in the past few years, the chances are pretty high that you have run across the Toyota RAV4 a time or two. After all, the RAV4 was the best-selling sedan or SUV across all brands for 2018. It comes as no surprises that it is setting records again for 2019.

What is the 2019 RAV4 XP Trail

Accessories and options and upgrade packages are big business. Vehicle owners will upgrade their trucks, SUVs and cars to make them look nicer, to add value and to protect them. Luckily the Toyota RAV4 offers many options and alternatives.

The XP Trail package is a set of features that improve the RAV4 appearance for those owners who want it. These upgrades include 17” KMC Bully Black Wheels with Pirelli all-terrain tires, XP Series badging and black emblem overlays. The black overlays change the Toyota symbol, the RAV4 logo and the trim level logo (in this case it was the XLE AWD I researched) from chrome to black.

In a way the XP Trail reminds me of the 2019 RAV4 Adventure model. If you get this XP package with an AWD, you will have the benefit of multi-terrain select controls to help you in terrain consisting of mud and sand, rock and dirt and snow.

The 2019 RAV4 is perfect for many people

When the Toyota RAV4 was redesigned for the 2019 model year, everything changed. The exterior became sportier and more rugged, appealing to those people looking for road trips and camping vacations.

It also received a whole assortment of new safety features and technology that both entertains passengers and keeps them connected to the outside word easily and conveniently. Thus, appealing to families who appreciated safety upgrades such as the new Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. It also works for those with smartphones, to those who happily use Apple CarPlay and love using Alexa commands.

Of course, the new RAV4 certainly has a broad appeal to those who previously owned and drove RAV4 models in the past.

With so many different grade, or trim levels, available to all different types of families, the 2019 RAV4 now has a vehicle for many different types of customers with many different types of driving styles and needs.

This is one reason the RAV4 is so immensely popular these days. When talking with Mia Phillips, Toyota’s National Manager of Crossover Utility Vehicles, she could not be happier with RAV4 sales results. “Our team is super excited with the success of the RAV4. There is a RAV4 for everyone.”

I could not agree any more Mia.

Time for your thoughts on RAV4

Do you own a 2019 Toyota RAV4 and how do you like it so far? Will you be in the market for a small SUV in the near future and will the 2019 or 2020 RAV4 be on your short list? Also, what do you think of the XP Trail package?

Thanks for reading everyone. See you next story.

I still like the looks of the Adventure a little better (despite the horrible factory wheels). The off-road capability (Adventure or the XP Trail) is still only about the same or a little less than non Trailhawk versions of the Jeeps (Compass/Cherokee).

The only thing that makes this remotely "trail" is the tires. I wonder how many thousands of dollars Toyota will charge for this.he only thing that makes this remotely "trail" is the tires. I wonder how many thousands of dollars Toyota will charge for this.

Could care less about another overpriced appearance package.

I want 3 things from Toyota:

- Android Auto

- An optional engine in the RAV4- while the 2.5NA is decent as a base engine, as these RAV4's get loaded up and can hit MSRP's of the high 30k's, there really needs to be a 2.0T or a V-6 offered.

- A more compact size CUV as this RAV4 is as large as my old 4Runner, and I simply want something smaller.

I just recently purchased the RAV4 XLE Hybrid, from Don Joseph Toyota in Stow,, Ohio. I am extremely pleased with its accessories and available options that came on the vehicle. I am certainly going to get emblems on the SUV blacked out. I spend a lot of time in the vehicle and enjoy the interior. Everything is within easy reach, just need to get fully used to Apple Carplsy and using Siri. The sales staff was extremely nice. I came back and bought the car on the second visit from them. My salesperson was hands-on during the delivery, made sure I understood the functions of the car.. Thank you Don Joseph for doing a great job, as this is my first Toyota vehicle.

I have the RAV adventurer model because the fastest and safest way for me to get to work is a dirt road in poor condition that tore up my Sienna AWD. I really like it. I find i drive in Sport Mode a lot in my area. I love the looks, handling and i am sure it will be better in the snow. But i miss the awesome power of the Sienna 296 hp that made it accelerate in the upper gears like a sports car. Why cant they put that engine in the RAV 4 Adventurer?

NOT a TOYOTA package. Southeast Dealers only. Aftermarket parts.... so if you're not in the SE you won't get this.. Probably overpriced for what you can do on your own.

The XP Trail looks great! I realize the only upgrade for performance is the tires but they look awesome and very capable. How are those tires doing for you from feedback from customers who bought the XP Trail?
