Larger intakes in the front bumper and a taller wing will make the Jaguar SVR F-Type even more irresistible. Has the elusive “Super” F-Type with north of 600 horsepower been spotted?

The best-selling Jaguar sports car in many years may have a big brother soon that’s itching to take his place in the top spot. Critics have called the F-Type the Crown Jewel of Jaguar and the sales of the Roadster and the R Coupe are as hot as its looks. Some reports say this car is a reality and if so, it may have just been spotted testing. The photo shows an F-Type with only a small amount of camo, but it appears to be covering a couple of clues that it’s a different model.

The front bumper seems to house larger front air dams or intakes and the rear wing may be a bit taller. Even if this car was just an early test mule used to evaluate some new go-fast parts, it could be the first real hint that Jaguar will build the SVR F-Type. If they do, plan for this top cat to come packed with better handling, additional aero packages, and more power. The F-Type R Coupe already has a 5.0-liter Supercharged V-8 engine with 550 horsepower, but you can bet that the SVR Super F-Type will have the Porsche guys looking at the stats a little closer.

The Project 7 F-Type was most likely used as another test-bed for more of the styling and aerodynamic upgrades. Jaguar’s new Special Vehicle Operations team may have a few tricks up their sleeve and it could include larger ceramic brakes and a higher horsepower engine. After all Hennessey was able to tweak their HPE600 F-Type to produce a whopping 623 horsepower and 568 lb. ft. of torque with a zero to 60 mph of 3.5 sec. It also blistered the ¼ mile in 11.6 sec @ 126 mph.

My pulse beats quicker just thinking of an F-Type that’s more fun to drive than the 2015 R Coupe, so stay tuned to Torque News for more details as they are released.
